Sustaining graduated projects over the long-term can be a challenge. Many maintainers and contributors are tired and burnt out, so they don’t always have the time to focus on ways to improve sustainability. Being proactive about making improvements before something escalates into a crisis can make our graduated projects more sustainable and reliable for all of us. However, not everyone has the experience, skills, or time required to diagnose potential problems and use what they learn to make sustainability improvements.

This talk will focus on ways to get started on the path toward improving your graduated projects with a focus on responsiveness, contributor sustainability, governance, and organizational participation with open source guides and templates developed by TAG Contributor Strategy and the CHAOSS project. The audience will learn about resources and tips for how to diagnose potential problems to proactively improve the long-term sustainability of graduated CNCF projects.
